Buzzard Rock Trail
There is nothing better to do on the weekend than enjoy some unspoiled nature, which is what you’ll find on the Buzzard Rock Trail in Latta Nature Preserve, on the shore of Mountain Island Lake. The trail is short and well shaded, with lovely views over the water. Watch out for poison ivy off the trail; otherwise, it’s an excellent choice for everyone in the family! Blythe Landing on Lake Norman
If you want to take out your boat or canoe or just spend some time by Lake Norman, check out Blythe Landing! This Mecklenburg County park has a boat launch, a fishing pier, sand volleyball courts and more. Swimming is not allowed, but you can relax by the water and enjoy some summertime fun with the entire family. Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation lists the park’s directions and hours.
Birkdale Village
